Dr. Gramig specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of the upper extremity focusing on the hand, wrist, and elbow. In his practice, Dr. Gramig predominantly cares for patients with injuries and disorders involving the upper extremity. These conditions can result from traumatic, overuse, athletic, or workers’ compensation injuries or conditions such as arthritis. These conditions often require surgical intervention. Dr. Gramig’s patients range from pediatric to geriatric stages of life.
Dr. Gramig is a native of Tennessee. He attended the University of Tennessee where he obtained a BA in biology and was selected as a Phi Beta Kappa. He went on to the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center to complete his medical degree and was selected to Alpha Omega Alpha. He completed his surgical and orthopedic surgery residency at the renowned Campbell Clinic in Memphis, Tennessee. He then went on to fellowship training at the Indiana Hand to Shoulder Center to complete his specialized upper extremity training.
Dr. Gramig is Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery and holds the Certificate of Added Qualifications in Hand Surgery. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and an active member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand.
He is proud to have served and specialize in care of the upper extremity for over 20 years in Greensboro. Dr. Gramig delivers an enthusiastic approach to patient care to provide a positive patient experience and improve the well-being of his patients. Dr Gramig was attracted to the profession of medicine, as he had and continues to have a desire to serve those in need. He has found nothing more rewarding than to give of himself to help his patients and his community.
He continues to be actively involved in teaching students and community education. He has lectured both in and outside of the state of North Carolina. He formally served as a Captain in the Tennessee Army National Guard. Dr. Gramig enjoys water skiing, golfing, cycling, and is active in wildlife conservation management. One of his proudest accomplishments is that of a father and husband. He enjoys and continues to be inspired by observing his patients return to an active life.
